About ICE

ICE is an open source visual editor for cloud infrastructure, built by Light Cloud, Inc.

What ICE is

ICE stands for Integrated Cloud Environment. The shape is borrowed from IDEs: one workspace covers design, build, run, observe. Today, cloud teams string together different tools for each step. ICE puts them on the same canvas.

The technical bet underneath is simple. A provider-neutral graph engine sits at the centre, plus per-cloud deployers that translate the graph into native SDK calls. The blocks layer is shared. The deployer layer is pluggable. Migration is a target switch, not a rewrite.

Apache 2.0. No telemetry. No license keys. Free for any use, commercial included.

Editions

  • Community. This repo. Single user. Apache 2.0. Available now.
  • Team. Self-hosted, multi-user, invites, OIDC SSO. Planned.
  • Cloud. Managed. Planned.

Why open source

Cloud infrastructure tooling is foundational. It should be readable, forkable, and free of license-key gates. Anything that nudges users into lock-in defeats the purpose of a multi-cloud editor.

The Team and Cloud editions add multi-user features (presence, comments, RBAC) that only make sense in a hosted context. The Community Edition is the full product for individuals.
